Mr Paul Hotz , who came from Switzerland met Belgium through the Henri Hermann's family a Belgian distributor of photographic material established in Belgium since 1893.
In 1938 Paul Hotz found is own business in the "Rue du Lombard" in the centre of Brussels between the "Grand-Place" and the "Bourse".
Despite WWII difficulties, Paul Hotz managed to keep afloat his activities during those frightening five years so well that, at the end of the war, it seemed that he was the only one on the belgian market to be able to distribute Photographic material.
Thus Paul Hotz import Foba and Alpa devices from Switzerland, his country of origin which had been keeped out the war. Alpa was the first Reflex manufacturer. Foba was specialised in Studio equipment.
In 1948, Paul Hotz is the first importer of Sinar. The Sinar with serial number 001 has been sold in Belgium. This same year also begun the representation of the very wellknown Braun flashes.
In 1963 Hotz become distributor for Broncolor and later Visatec and Kobold.
Manfrotto is added to Hotz's distributed products in 1969. In the same venture we find today the Gitzo, IFF and Kata brands.
In 1973 the company relocate itself to its actual adress at "Rue de la Gare/Stationstraat 3" in Etterbeek.
Since that time Hotz has continuously increased his distributed products range. You'll find them in our product page.
July 2004, Paul Hotz is bought by the H. Debeukelaer group to be part of a leading structure in distribution of photographic material in Belgium.
March 2009, Hotz moved to the new location in Aartselaar, Boomsesteenweg 77, B-2630 Aartselaar.
December 2016, the activities of Paul Hotz nv / sa are transferred to H. De Beukelaer & C° nv as from December 30th 2016. Hotz becomes part of the De Beukelaer company as the "professional division" of De Beukelaer
